We are happy to announce that a new teacher has joined our MMS family for the remainder of the year. Matthew Vanosdell will be joining our staff effective the first day of the Spring Semester - which is January 22. He will be taking over our 8th grade Science classes and will be teaching two periods of intervention classes for students who require a bit of extra help. Erin Sandage will continue with us teaching her Career Exploration classes as well as a couple of periods of core support for students who are deficient in credits.
Because of these staffing changes, many of our 7th and 8th grade students will have a new schedule for the Spring Semester. Students who have failed classes and/or who are in danger of not being promoted will be placed in the core support classes to work on recovering credits to make progress toward promotion. Students who need extra support in reading and/or math have been recommended by their teachers to be placed in the two intervention classes. These intervention classes are designed to give students extra support and instruction in reading and math as well as to front load material that they will cover in their regular math or English class.
Our 6th grade students should not be affected by these changes, and new schedules will be distributed first thing Monday morning in your 7th or 8th grader's power morning class.
If you have any questions about schedules, please call us at (530) 233-7201 x 301
Thank you and have a good night.
